STEEL FABRICATION & SPECIALISED WELDING DEPARTMENT
A complete range of modern welding operations tailored to suit new and existing components for wear reclamation and hard surfacing. We specialise in the new manufacture and repair of dragline and face shovel rope sheaves and drums, pins and bushes, walking frames, cams and shafts, fairlead and boom point assemblies, and hydraulic excavator load rollers and drive sprockets, as well as structural repairs to booms, side frames, car bodies, upper frame modules, dippers and buckets.
LARGE DIAMETER SLEW BEARING DEPARTMENT
We manufacture, refurbish and repair large-diameter slew bearings for all popular makes of hydraulic excavators, cranes and industrial equipment, Komatsu, Liebherr, O&K, Caterpillar and Hitachi. Have your existing OEM slew bearings condition-assessed for their potential to be fully rebuilt and warranted, for as little as 30% of replacement cost.
INDUCTION HARDENING & HEAT TREATMENT DEPARTMENT
The most modern and comprehensive commercial induction hardening facility in Queensland. Units from 200 kW to 400 kW at 3 to 10 kHz harden to 60 HRC at case depths of 3 to 15 mm. Our computerised gas-fired oven handles stress relieving and normalising, and the service is available commercially to external customers.
MACHINING DEPARTMENT
CNC plant sized for the heaviest mining components. A CNC floor borer with 13 m of travel and a 6 m column takes workpieces to 150 t; a 5 m CNC vertical borer and a 3.5 m twin-post vertical borer handle large rings and shells; CNC lathes turn components over 40 t; and we cut internal and external gears to 5.5 m diameter. Detailed QA packages come with all completed work.
FITTING DEPARTMENT
Gear case and main machinery overhaul to OEM specification. Every component is cleaned, stripped, assessed, measured and recorded before repair, replacement or refurbishment. With jacking presses to 600 tonnes and the integrated support of our fabrication, welding, machining and painting departments, ABC repairs all in-house, 24/7.
INDUSTRIAL PAINTING DEPARTMENT
Abrasive blasting and protective coatings on an industrial scale, to industrial and marine specifications, new work and re-coats, high-pressure cleaning, airless and conventional spray, by trade-accredited painters with QA documentation as required.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
SolidWorks 3D modelling and FEA structural analysis, drafting to AS1100, conceptual and workshop drawings for new and reverse-engineered products, and design optimisation that removes the stress concentrations that cause failures.
